A ’30 Rock’ Revival Would Be ‘A Dream Come True’ Says Jane Krakowski

There are no concrete plans for 30 Rock to make a return to network TV, but there has been talk.

Jane Krakowski, who played high maintenance actress Jenna Maroney on the long-running series (2006-2013), is all about it. She swung by the opening night of 30 Rock creator and co-star Tina Fey‘s Mean Girls musical on Broadway (April 9), and she opened up about the possibility of a revival.

“We all say over and over again that working on that show was probably the best experience we’re ever going to have in our careers, as far as creativity goes,” she told The Hollywood Reporter.

In regards to reuniting with Fey on-screen and the rest of the TGS gang — Jack Donaghy (Alec Baldwin), Tracy Jordan (Tracy Morgan), Kenneth Parcell (Jack McBrayer) — Krakwoski said it would be “a dream come true.”

It doesn’t sound like a pipe dream either, with Krakowski acknowledging the many shows making a comeback in 2018: “Right now, [reboots are] the trend. And I would be thrilled if the trend continued over into 30 Rock.”

Us too, Jane! Can you make this happen NBC?

Apparently, NBC Entertainment chairman Bob Greenblatt has chimed in, too. During last year’s TCA summer press tour, he imagined how the conversation with Fey would go: “I’d say to Tina, ‘Hey, you think some more 30 Rock makes any sense?’ She’d say, ‘I don’t know, maybe.’”

An imagined “maybe” is better than an imagined “no,” so we’ll take it!

But would Fey really be up for it? Clearly, she has her hands full with the Mean Girls on-stage musical — an adaptation of her hugely successful 2004 movie by the same name.

And then there are the many commitments filling the other cast members’ diaries. Morgan just kicked off his own show, The Last O.G. while Krakowski is working on the fourth season of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt with Fey, who is co-creator. Krakowski is set to reprise her role as Jacqueline White. Baldwin, meanwhile, is currently filming Motherless Brooklyn. And we spotted McBrayer in last night’s (April 10) episode of The Middle, reprising his recurring role as Dr. Ted Goodwin.

In other words, the cast of 30 Rock is keeping pretty busy. But hopefully they can sync up their schedules and get this reboot happening.

Can we will it to happen? Let us know if this is something you’d be keen on too!
