Democrats fighting Trump’s cabinet picks prove they don’t know how to win

Democrats are determined to stop the confirmation of Andrew Puzder for Labor Secretary. It’s the latest “hissy fit” from Democrats in Congress, who haven’t figured out how to pick their battles.

When Obama was first elected in 2008, he was given a filibuster-proof Democratic Senate with 60 votes and a Democratic majority in the house. At the time, it caused me to think it would be like “Christmas every day” for Liberalism.

I was sure that America would be a communist country before the  2012 election. They could have passed ANY and ALL legislation fully enacting the entire Liberal agenda. They didn’t. All they accomplished was to enact Obamacare, ushering in the long-held Liberal desire to have socialized medicine, and a few pieces of junk like Dodd-Frank and other folderol.

They squandered a golden opportunity. That is because they were sure that after that Bush, Democrats would rule America for decades. Indeed, James Carville published a book named “40 More Years” claiming exactly that. They thought they had plenty of time and there was no need to hurry. They were wrong.

The Democrats’ failure to stop the nominees for the Trump cabinet picks is pathetic. It is a battle they cannot win. So why do they keep trying?

Lee Stranahan of Breitbart points out the problem.

“It’s about the withering power of the Democrats.
“Since President Trump’s election, the Democrat Party’s protest-of-the-day tactics have been sound and fury, signifying—and adding up to—nothing. The post-Obama left has been handed loss after humiliating loss, from their attempts to challenge Donald Trump taking office in the first place with recounts and electoral college hijinks, to sitting by and watching helplessly as Trump’s cabinet nominees take office over their objections and party-line votes.

“Adding to their misery, the Democrats just lost high-stakes battles over the appointments of new Secretary of Education Betsy Devos and Attorney General Jeff Sessions. Both figures are reviled by the Democrats because the left knows that appointees like DeVos and Sessions will quickly undo eight years of Barack Obama’s attempts at the fundamental transformation of America.”

Trump and The Republicans: ‘Almost’ A Golden Opportunity

Trump was elected with a similar, but not the same, card hand. He was given majorities in both houses of Congress, but NOT a 60 vote majority in the Senate, thereby leaving a potential for Democrat filibustering. There is, however, a difference.

Harry Reid selfishly exercised the “Nuclear Option,” allowing the Senate to override a rule or precedent by a simple majority of 51 votes, instead of 60 votes. In November 2013, Senate Democrats used the nuclear option to eliminate filibusters on executive branch nominations and federal judicial appointments other than those to the Supreme Court.

Harry Reid retired at the end of 2016. He didn’t care that one day if Republicans took power, they too would be able to do this. He screwed the Democrats, big time, and we can see the same result happen again and again when each one of President Trump’s nominations is approved via the simple majority specified by Harry Reid. Thanks, Harry!

Compare And Contrast Obama To Trump

When Obama was first elected, he went on vacation. When Trump was elected, the day after the election he went to work. Obama was not accustomed to hard, executive style, work, and it showed throughout his presidency with his constant golf outings and lavish vacations. When he encountered elite political figures in the government, he realized that he was hopelessly outclassed. Unlike himself, these were people that knew what they were doing.

Imagine the scenario of Obama, Commander in Chief, meeting with the top, sharpest, minds in the military, who found that they needed to break things down to a kindergarten level to bring the ignorant president up to speed. Imagine the gigantic ego of Obama reacting to that reality. He couldn’t live with NOT being the smartest one in the room. What did he do? He simply fired as many of those smart military men as he could. Now they WEREN’T smarter than him! Problem solved!

Flash forward to President Trump and behold him bringing on board the brightest and best for every appointment. Their high intelligence is an extension of his executive power; a skill Trump has honed for his entire life.

The Democrat Method of Picking Candidates Is Key To Their Current Weakness

Democrats, now, literally never pick candidates for elected office based on their qualifications for the job. The process has become one big affirmative action program from Obama on down. As a function of their identity politics, they run someone for the Senate because they marched in a civil rights demonstration. They run a woman for president with zero accomplishments, even though she was once a senator and a secretary of state because they wanted a woman to be president. They were totally unfazed by her administrative incompetence when tens of thousands of her emails were easily hacked, and the contents detailed her incompetence.

Run down a list of your favorite Democrat cartoon characters, and you will see a similar pattern. They are almost always a member of a liberal perpetual victim group, elected via affirmative action, with zero qualifications for the job. While it hasn’t always been this way, it has been this way at least for the past 20 years. Now the population of liberal nitwits in office has gotten to the point of being an epidemic. It has been a major part of the historic collapse of the Democrat party.

And that is a good thing.
