James Corden Takes ‘The Late Late Show’ to London with an Impressive Guest List

Last April, we were excited to learn that James Corden is packing up and taking his hugely successful U.S. chat show to his native England. He’ll film three episodes in London this June.

It must feel like quite the homecoming for the actor, comedian and host of The Late Late Show, and he won’t be going it alone. Today, the official guest list was announced and it includes some stunners. Joining Corden in the British capital will be Nicole Kidman, David Beckham, Emily Blunt, Tom Cruise, Jennifer Hudson, Kit Harington, Sir Ben Kingsley, Russell Brand and boxer Anthony Joshua. There will also be musical performances from his fellow Brit and friend Harry Styles (who recently made his Carpool Karaoke solo debut) and American rock band, Kings of Leon.

OK, we’ll give you a minute to soak that all in…

Are you ready for some more? In addition to these stellar celebrity bookings, there will also be a special version of Carpool Karaoke with Ed Sheeran.

It does make us wonder: how can Corden and his team tweak the roadster segment to make it even more enjoyable? Well, they’re the experts, and we trust they can come up with some new twists and turns to give the singalong a new spin.

While we expect the U.K. version to be fun and provide that British slant us Anglophiles crave, we think being back in the U.K. might prove to be a little emotional for Corden…

He’s not one to hide his feelings, which we’ve seen in some lovely moments, like when Stevie Wonder brought him to tears while serenading Corden’s wife over the phone:

In case you missed it, here’s Corden and bandleader Reggie Watts packing up to move the show to London:

The three episodes will air in the U.K. from June 7 – 9 on Sky and NOW TV and in the U.S. on CBS per regular broadcasting scheduling.

What’s on your wish list for the U.K. version of the show? A Gavin and Stacey reunion perhaps?
