It’s unfortunate that the stunning, red-haired actress isn’t in the spotlight for her acting these days – but we guess that hasn’t happened much since Mean Girls was released…
The actress is now making headlines after leaving her fiancé, Ego Tarabasov.
In an interview with The Mail on Sunday, she opened up about her tumultuous relationship with the 23-year-old Russian businessman and claimed that he has been abusive to her on numerous occasions.
“It’s not the first time. That’s the problem. But this time, someone saw,” the actress confessed when referring to the showdown the couple had on the balcony of her London apartment, of which was caught on film and shared online.
She explained that after going on a “fun” date together, she decided to go to bed and her fiancé went out.
We got home, I went to bed and Egor went out. A few hours later he came back and when I woke up he was standing over me. He wasn’t himself, he was being very aggressive and he attacked me.”
After remaining silent on the matter and instead retreating to stay with friends rather than calling the police, the actress explained why she decided to do the interview, stating:
“I wanted to do this interview because it’s time to tell the truth. There have been so many lies printed about me recently. I’ve kept quiet for so long but now I’m scared of what Egor might do to me and to himself.
“I need closure. I genuinely fell in love with him but he broke my trust and made me feel unsafe.”
On her decision to walk away, she actress said:
“There comes a time when I have to put myself first, my family, and also think about my career which I’ve worked so hard for. I also don’t want to let my fans down by not being the strong woman I have become.”
“I realise now you can’t stay in a relationship just for love. No woman can be hit and stay with that person if that person isn’t prepared to say sorry.”
Hopefully you’ll find the man of your dreams soon Lindz!
