Mavel New Iron Man Is Now A Teenage Black Girl

Marvel have turned the Iron Man comic on its head by announcing that the hero is now going to be a 15-year-old black girl.

Move over Tony Stark; it’s Riri Williams time to shine.

According to the comic giant, Riri is going to be even smarter than Stark, and despite the gender change, she will keep the title Iron Man.

So far what we know about this science genius is that she enrolls in MIT at the age of 15’ and gets Tony’s attention when she builds her very own Iron Man suit in her dorm room.

Creator and writer Brian Michael Bendis told TIME magazine that Riri is the most modern version of a superhero or superheroine story he has ever come up with.

When speaking about what inspired him to write this character, he said: “One of the things that stuck with me when I was working in Chicago a couple of years ago on a TV show that didn’t end up airing was the amount of chaos and violence. And this story of this brilliant, young woman whose life was marred by a tragedy that could have easily ended her life – just random street violence – and went off to college was very inspiring to me.”

He added that Riri is going to have the upper hand on Tony with her technology so we can’t wait to see how the pair gets on side by side.

While we love Tony Stark and the original Iron Man we can’t deny that we are extremely excited by the prospect of a female superhero being smarter, stronger and possibly Time To Break.
