MSNBC anchor Craig Melvin asked Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D., Texas) on Friday whether she actually was “stalking” Hillary Clinton campaign chair John Podesta, which he complained of in one of his hacked emails released by WikiLeaks.
“Sheila Jackson Lee is stalking me,” Podesta wrote in an April 2015 email, several days before Hillary Clinton formally announced her candidacy for president. “In addition to wanting to be involved in everything, she specifically asked me about whether Hillary would accept the Barbara Jordan Medallion for Service at Texas Southern University.”
“What’s that about, congresswoman? Were you stalking John Podesta?” Melvin asked.
“Well, I tell you I am one hard worker when it comes to helping young people,” she said. “Texas Southern University is a school that Barbara Jordan went to. We honor her … Frankly, it was an exciting event, 3,000 people came, and it was the opportunity for Hillary Clinton to give her most magnificent commitment and detailed agenda regarding voting rights and saving and protecting voting rights in America.”
“Sounds like you’re admitting the stalking,” Melvin said, smiling.
“I’ve admitted being determined and with a smile on my face, and look, that’s campaign chatter,” Jackson Lee said.
