Shock Poll: New Results From Final Debate Just In, It’s BIG News For One Candidate

donald-trumpA recent poll has sampled the disposition of probable voter after they saw the two nominees for president in the last presidential debate Wednesday night.

Donald Trump is still the preferred choice for president by a very small margin.

A Rasmussen Reports White House Watch poll released Friday shows Trump, who held the lead going into the debate, still holds a narrow edge over Democrat Hillary Clinton.

The poll shows Trump leading Clinton 43 percent to 41 percent. Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson received 5 percent support while Green Party candidate Jill Stein received 3 percent support.

In the poll Rasmussen released Thursday, Trump led Clinton 43 percent to 40 percent.

The poll found that only 5 percent of voters sampled were still undecided about which candidate they will vote for, while 3 percent were for another candidate other than the top four.

The poll highlighted the importance of the final days of the campaign. Although Trump leads Clinton by one percentage point among the 88 percent of respondents who were certain of who they would vote for, the margin was drastically different among voters who said their preference was not yet cast in stone.

Among those voters who said they could change their votes in the coming days, Trump leads Clinton 38 percent to 25 percent, with Johnson barely behind Clinton at 21 percent and Stein at 16 percent. he poll also noted that although more than 90 percent of enrolled Republicans or Democrats were firm in their votes, only 77 percent of independent voters were sure of their decision.

The Rasmussen poll has a margin of error of 2.5 percentage points.

Trump was also leading in the USC Dornsife/Los Angeles Times “Daybreak” poll, which has tracked the preferences of about 3,000 people nationwide since July.

As of Friday, Trump was leading that poll with 44.5 percent support against 43.8 percent support for Clinton.

The importance of independent voters was affirmed in the most recent IBD-TIPP poll from Investor’s Business Daily which showed Trump leading Clinton by one percentage point.

“One key fact that has shown up in the three days of IBD/TIPP polling is that Trump holds a substantial 42 percent to 31 percent advantage over Clinton among independent voters. Independents, who in general tend to be socially liberal but fiscally conservative, now make up about 34 percent of the electorate, IBD/TIPP data show,” wrote Terry Jones of IBD.
