Singer John Mellencamp Takes A Knee For Black Lives Matter On The Stephen Colbert Show (VIDEO)

John Mellencamp may be late to the party, but never let it be said he didn’t jump on the Black Lives Matter band wagon. And he chose the liberal “Late Show with Stephen Colbert” to express his leftist indignation, by taking a knee just days before the Super Bowl.

Breitbart reports:

Just days before the Super Bowl, John Mellencamp sank to his knees in support of the Black Lives Matter movement after performing a political ballad on the “Late Show With Stephen Colbert.”

The singer-songwriter sang the violin-and-piano dirge “Easy Target,” with the lyrics “In the street and the gutters/ The cotton fields in this land/ Here’s an easy target.” At the end, he knelt and lifted his right fist into the air.

Watch:

The song comes from Mellencamp’s album “Sad Clowns & Hillbillies,” which came out late last year.

Colbert introduced Mellencamp as being known for his political songs.

COLBERT: My next guest is known for his political songs. And he’s got a new one tonight entitled: “Easy Target.”

It’s amazing how so many people who work in the entertainment industry are so out of touch and so far left. They think they’re being edgy when in fact they’re losing fans by the thousands.
