#Wholock came one step closer to reality yesterday, when the Twelfth Doctor himself, Peter Capaldi, made a visit to Sherlock’s residency at 221B Baker Street, as revealed in a photo by director Rachel Talalay (Doctor Who, Sherlock).
“Wholock,” of course, refers to a hypothetical show that combines Doctor Who and Sherlock, both of which Rachel has directed in the past. So far the combo doesn’t exist, but that hasn’t stopped fans on social media from imagining how it would look, going so far as to create artwork, gifs and videos combining the two shows.
Even so, it may make one wonder: Would the Doctor be a client of Sherlock’s? Or would Sherlock need rescuing from an alien invasion?
While this isn’t an official mashup, seeing the two genres blend together is pretty mind-bending:
Promised #LIWho I'd finally post this: #PCap visiting (no conspiracy) me at #Sherlock221b last year. In costume as he was working on Class that day. Now i'm done over-explaining, great moment for #WhoLock #DoctorWho pic.twitter.com/ca3aLSQIqv

So how did this tease happen? It turns out Peter was filming Doctor Who spin-off Class in the same studio as Sherlock last year and swung by, hence being in his Doctor costume.
The idea of the two overlapping is still captivating though.
Does the Doctor look comfy in his new surroundings?
