Trump administration to send in the Feds to Chicago

In a series of tweets, President Trump warned the Chicago leaders that if they don’t get the violence under control, he would send in the Feds.

Here is the first tweet:

“Chicago murder rate is record setting – 4,331 shooting victims with 762 murders in 2016. If Mayor can’t do it he must ask for Federal help!”

And here is the second tweet:

“If Chicago doesn’t fix the horrible “carnage” going on, 228 shootings in 2017 with 42 killings (up 24% from 2016), I will send in the Feds!”

And the latest information that has just been confirmed is that the ATF will send 20 agents in Chicago in an effort to strengthen the federal presence in the city.

CNN reports that the additional agents will form a task force, which the ATF refers to as “Chicago Crime Guns Strike Force” in an effort to stem the city’s gun violence.

The increase, one official said, has been in the works for some time and is not in response to President Donald Trump tweeting last week that “If Chicago doesn’t fix the horrible ‘carnage’ going on … I will send in the feds.”

Currently, there are more than 40 agents in the Chicago area. That number will be increased by the new 20 agents.

Maybe President Trump doesn’t have a direct involvement in this, but it is a fact that after he became President, the Federal agencies took things more seriously. Hopefully, together with Chicago PD, they will clean up and make the streets safe once again in Chicago.

Thank you for reading.
