Political commentator Mark Dice has posted a new video in which he criticizes U2’s hissy fit over Donald Trump.
In case you haven’t heard, U2 is upset over America choosing Donald Trump over Hillary Clinton. As a result, they are “punishing” us by refusing to release their new album. The Guardian reports.
Speaking with Rolling Stone, guitarist the Edge said that the band was placing the album’s release on hold and taking some “breathing space” to consider what they wanted to say following Trump’s ascension to the White House.
“We just went, ‘Hold on a second – we’ve got to give ourselves a moment to think about this record and about how it relates to what’s going on in the world,’” the guitarist said.
Basically, U2 is punishing America for voting for Donald Trump. Because America really needs the opinion of an Irish rock band.
Most people would find the idea of U2 withholding music as “punishment” absurd. U2 used to make great music – in the 1980s. Lately, however, their music has been so lackluster that they had to give away an album via iTunes. In fact, iTunes put the album on people’s iPhones without asking, resulting in millions of complaints because they didn’t want the new U2 album on their phone. U2 may actually be doing us a favor by not releasing their album.
Political commentator Mark Dice, however, had a field day with U2 over the incident. Here’s his video rant on the whole affair.
What do you think about America not getting a new U2 album because we elected Donald Trump President? Let us know in the comments.
