John Boyega‘s career might be in overdrive right now, but his appearance last night (July 26) on The Tonight Show was a reminder that everyone has to start somewhere.
And in John’s case, that “somewhere” was modeling for stock photos. Apparently he did it years ago, long before he was famous, to earn extra money for his drama studies, and never expected the resulting shots might catch up with him.
Until host Jimmy Fallon got hold of them, that is. The pair talked about John’s new movie, his lack of time off, and his light saber collection, which, it turns out, he’s not too keen to share with other people.
It was then that Jimmy pulled out a photo of John posing awkwardly for a college brochure.
Just watch his reaction:
This is the second time he’s sat on Jimmy’s couch, and a lot has changed since that first visit in December 2015. Not only has John appeared as Finn in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, but he’s filmed the next installment in the epic space saga, and you can also look for him in Kathryn Bigelow‘s new movie Detroit about a real-life incident during the 1967 riots in Michigan city. A new trailer for Detroit just released today (July 27), which you can find here. Plus, he bagged the lead role in the upcoming Pacific Rim sequel, not to mention squeezing in a play in London’s West End.
Did you spot John Boyega in a brochure prior to this late-night shout out?
